Hi people of Wishaw.
Welcome to my first official newsletter in my post as Head Professional of Wishaw - my home club. It has been a whirlwind start but it's been a blast getting my teeth into setting up the shop and meeting you all. It's been great to see some old faces, but I'm really excited to see so many new faces at the same time. With golf clubs struggling to engage new members, it shows what a great club Wishaw is to have a very full membership.
As well as introducing my newsletter this week, I also have a brand new shop website:
www.davidparkgolf.co.uk
My online shop can provide you with equipment and clothing across all brands, not just the ones I stock in the professional shop. It will also compete with all other online pricing (and in a lot of circumstances is even better pricing than companies such as American Golf). This website will also provide you with tips and drills, as well as new product information, so take a look and let me know what you think.
The shop is starting to take shape and it's been great to see so many of you popping in for a look. Here are a few snaps from the shop in its current state for those who have not managed to pop in.
I'm a member of Foremost Golf, the UK's biggest golf buying group, so no product is out of my reach. Please get in touch if you would like me to order anything. As I mentioned above, I'm pretty confident I can match even the lowest internet prices except eBay and its fakes...... haha.
Since starting in May, the course has really come on and the recent weather has certainly helped along with the knowledge of Head Greenkeeper Gerry and his staff. I was sorry to learn Campbell Wallace had retired as I have known Campbell since I was a junior member and his chat and jokes were always welcome. Hopefully he won't be a stranger but I am sure big Gerry is ready to take the course onwards. I wish him all the best in his new role.
It's great to see so many members coming along to take some lessons. We have constructed two lesson bays at the end of the range, purely for coaching and club fitting. These have been used quite a bit since taking over and will continue to do so.
Many of you are already feeling the benefits of the coaching and it's great to see some of you in the prizes. I will also include some coaching tips in these weekly newsletters to help you improve your game.
Please feel free to email me anything you might like to feature in my newsletter. I will gladly put it in if it makes the grade and if there are any potential sponsors for the newsletter (yes it costs to send this to you all) then please let me know. I have lots of avid readers and your company/brand could be advertised on here.
I wish everyone playing in their respective Club Championships all the best over the next couple of weeks. Play well.
