Welcome to my latest newsletter. It's Open Championship week and as I write this I have just witnessed big Phil Mickelson burn up the Troon course with an amazing 63 on day one. I am heading down there on Friday to watch with some of the Wishaw members and the forecast is terrible. Let's hope they have it wrong and we can get out and watch some of the golf. The course looks in splendid condition.




Last week I set the challenge of predicting where long-hitting Willie Hughes' tee shot went whilst playing with him on holiday.

I have a winner for you and it was Margaret Marshall who was the only one to say she thought it went in the trees. Most people predicted that he hit the green, obviously they have not had the pleasure of playing with the big man yet! Haha.

What a cracking day we had for the TaylorMade Demo Day on Monday. 10 golfers were fitted for TaylorMade's 2016 product line-up by their expert fitter, with some fantastic yardage gains and overall improvement seen by most.
