Hi folks,
Welcome to my weekly newsletter. What a great weekend we had for the Captain's Prize. The weather was kind and so was the turnout; I'm sure captain Jim was pleased with that. Well done to everyone that played and congratulations to all the winners. Well done to the players pictured for turning up to collect their prizes: Gus Kilmurray, Margaret Marshall and Nicola McLuckie.
Congratulations to David Karren who picked up two dozen Srixon balls and a glove for winning the bonus ball. The bonus ball was 48 - click here for the full results. Remember to keep trying in the pro shop.
There's lots of new stock arriving daily. We've just taken delivery of Autumn/Winter ranges from Sunderland (with the Wishaw crest) and Puma. Good to see some customers taking advantage of the wee deal of FREE socks for buying a pair of FootJoy shoes. There is also a great offer on from TaylorMade where you get double your trade-in value against an M1 or M2 driver or fairway wood.
My recent victim was Eddie Dougan. Eddie is a 17 handicapper and admitted he has been struggling to play to this. From his address position in the first photo below, you can see he stands pretty far away from the ball which causes him to stretch and stoop. His swing was coming quite a bit from out-to-in and was causing big pull shots with short irons and sliced shots with the longer clubs.
In his improved set-up position in the second photo above, you can see a much better distance from the ball. This gives Eddie a greater chance of a good delivery to the ball which should see much straighter shots, and hopefully a longer playing career without hurting his back.
