Hi folks,
Welcome to my weekly newsletter. Well it's been a fairly wet week at Wishaw with some really heavy showers passing through. I did manage to play a few holes last night and although the course is looking well for this time of year, it is getting pretty heavy in places. Take care whilst walking as some areas are a little slippery and make sure you are taking enough club to get up to the pin.
Member's photo of the week
Thanks to Alan McLeary for sending in a picture of him and his good lady on a recent holiday away. Good to see him wearing the Wishaw logo with pride whilst away.
Remember, if you like his sweater they are available in store as well as other styles. Let me know if you would like to order any.
Sale Shoe Wall
Come and check out the latest addition to my shop. Lots of sizes and lots of bargains, also the sale rack is bursting with Spring/Summer clobber making way for the Autumn/Winter ranges coming in. Please pop in and grab a bargain and help me move this gear on.
Practice Area
As we near the end of the season and the course is getting wet, please remember to replace your divots or use the sand provided. I noticed recently that the area is looking pretty churned up and next time try adopting the above method for divot taking. Many thanks.
Ryder Cup Challenge - 2nd October 2016
As mentioned before, this event is now at capacity but it is always good to be oversubscribed in case of cancellations. We will also try and squeeze the reserves in if possible so let me know if you want to play. The timings have now been announced for the actual Ryder Cup singles from America. The first match will tee off at 5:04pm (our time); they're hoping to have the matches wrapped up by 11:00pm (our time) so that should tie in perfectly with our bar's closing time. Don't want to be getting kicked out before the final putt has dropped!
All this means that we can now confirm ours. We are hoping to start at 11:00am (shotgun start) and that should get us all off the course by 3:00pm. This will give us enough time to do a short presentation and get some food before sitting down to watch the main event. I am going to do the draw this afternoon to see who is playing for who and who is playing where so watch this space.
Pro's Day - 8th October 2016
Names are coming in thick and fast and I'm already more than half full. Again this is something I feel you don't want to miss out on. I'm just about to complete the prize table and I'm thinking I might actually play myself - the prizes are that good. Only £30 per pair (one must be a visitor or midweek member) and you will also get fed. If this interests you then call the shop to reserve a place or simply pop in.
