Hi folks,
Welcome to the weekly blog, hope you all had a good week on the course and are getting set for a good and busy finish to the end of the season. Lots of great events are still to come including the first ever Ryder Cup Match and Pro's Day at Wishaw. They really promise to be two great days and something a wee bit different from the norm.
Ryder Cup - Sunday, 2 October
Please click here to see the draw. These will be the pairings for the day and the hole you start on. Please note if you are playing for USA (Captain) then wear red and if you are playing for Europe (Pro) then wear blue. We currently have four on the reserve list and if nobody drops out we will squeeze this four ball in also.
Pro Day - Saturday, 8 October
Names are still coming in for this, which is great as both shotguns are almost full. Please get in touch with the pro staff to get a game. I will need to start knocking games back soon so be quick, you really don't want to miss this. Also, the Scotland game kicks off that night at 7.45pm, so maybe a few shandies watching the game would be a great idea. Bring your own BANTER! Click here to view the prize list.
I am still coaching coming into the end of the season. Some say this is may be the best time to have a lesson or two to give you something to work at through the Winter months. Here are some examples of recent lessons and changes below:
Grant came along for his lesson and was struggling with poor strikes. From his set up you can see that the ball position was a little too far forward and he was leaning on his left side. He was hitting behind the ball too often due to the ball being too far towards his front (left) foot.
Johnny was along for his lesson and you can see he was suffering from a poor posture. He was sitting very much into his heels and was struggling to get any power due to his legs not helping him out.
If you'd like to book in for a lesson, get in touch here.
I attended Foremost Golf's Fitting Seminar at the Callaway Fitting Centre in St Andrews on Wednesday. It was a great day had by all and I even got to see the components of the new Callaway gear, including the Big Bertha Fushion Driver.
Simulators offer analysis from a golfer's swing and produce accurate measurements for ball spin and speed, launch angle and shot direction. From these results we can work out how best to fit a golf club for you.
