Welcome to my weekly newsletter, as I write this I am currently watching Tiger hacking his way round the magnificent Emirates course in Dubai. Although he is supposed to be back to being fully fit I can't help but think that's not quite the case, let's hope he can get some form back as I really miss the old Tiger.
Winter Series - 28th January
We had 61 golfers turnout for Saturday which was great considering how wet it was, it's really great to see such good turnout and hopefully you are all enjoying playing in the series. Remember the grand final date is the 25th of March. Keep that date clear!
In first class Gerry Pearson had a blistering 45 points and pushed Alan Gibson into 2nd place who had 41 points. In second class Will Storrie won on the BIH rule from Mark Poutney, both had 42 points.
There was one lucky winner in the magic 2's and the lucky hole was drawn as the 11th hole. Well done to Harry Lennox who scooped £61 for his troubles.

Wednesday Pro Sweep - 1st February
Well, Pat Murray's run is over, Danny Campbell ran out the winner with a brilliant nett 60, Tom Smith had a very good 65 and pipped Roland Russell into 3rd.

Sad News
I was given the terrible news on Thursday morning that longstanding member and good friend Archie Taylor passed away suddenly at home that morning, I am sure you will all be as sad as I am as Archie was a lovely man and a big help to the golf club over the years.
Will keep you posted when we know the funeral arrangements.
