Hi folks,
Welcome to my weekly newsletter, I was away in a much needed break to Lanzarote for some much needed sunshine...you guessed it, it rained! Could not believe it! Still the family and I had a great trip and I am back fully charged ready for a busy start to the season!
I got some good snaps from the greenkeepers this morning of a fairly waterlogged course. We will be struggling to have the course open for Saturday by the looks of it.
I unfortunately have to inform you of some very sad news. Pauline Schoneville a former employee and friend of Wishaw Golf Club lost her brave fight against a long illness. I am sure you will all have her husband Graeme, son Zack, and family in your thoughts at this very sad time. Details of Pauline's funeral can be found by clicking here.
Winter Series - 18th February 2017
Another great turnout with 83 golfers braving the conditions, a much shorter course this week due to how wet the underfoot conditions were. It's all hotting up moving into the closing weeks. Keep up the appearances and the prize table will keep growing. For full results please click here.
If anyone is wondering how many appearances they have then please ask in shop, I will attach a full list next week.
Coaching Corner
This weather is making it very difficult to get any practise or lessons in. I managed to get former member Chic Drysdale in for much needed help in the bunker. He has been suffering big time from shanks and what we discovered was his set up was giving him a major headache. As you can see from the first picture his set up was very bunched and crouched. This was encouraging the hosel of the club to meet the ball. After a little surgery in the 2nd picture you can see a much more athletic posture and would you believe we started to get a lot more success, let's hope after a few week practice he gets rid of the woes.
Boxes Galore
What can I say, the shop is bursting at the seams with new product, so much so I have been sorting it out without the chance to take pics to show you on here. Please pop in for a look, plenty to keep you amused and hopefully tempt those wallets out your pocket.
