Hi folks,
Well it's here, the season officially gets under way with the Gerry Bradley Memorial Stableford on Saturday. Let's hope for the sun splitting the trees as we have a huge turnout. Remember to check all your grips when you take the clubs out the garage after the long winter and take advantage of the FREE grip on your 7 iron offer. Don't start the season with poor grips.
Masters Green Jacket Sunday
I am always thinking of ways to bring some more "fun" and "social" events to the club. After the success of the Ryder Cup Day, I am trying to work out something for the 9th of April for the final day of the Masters. Watch your inboxes over next couple of days to find out more about it, but the end game is to play golf and then watch the last round in the clubhouse. Maybe think about getting the Monday off!? Oh and the winner will actually be presented with a green jacket.
Winter Series Final
Well we had 103 golfers turn out for the final and I am sure you will all agree we had perfect weather for it. Well done to you all for raising over £1400 pounds for the shootout. We created quite a prize table with that money with the help of some great discounts from yours truly. Check out the prize list by clicking here and winners pictured below.
Well done to Stevie Jeffrey on winning the shootout and to Willie Barrie on winning the series. This was an idea that was used at my previous clubs Carnwath and Pumpherston and I feel it had worked very well here at Wishaw, however if anyone has any more ideas then please let me know, always willing to try and make things even better. Thanks to you all for playing and making this a huge success, I am sure the bar takings had a welcomed little boost that night also!
Well done to Billy MacDonald who won £103 on the lucky magic 2 draw, the lucky hole was the 11th.

Get Ready For The Coming Season
The season is upon us, let's get off to a quick start and get your game in tune for the early part. Remember coaching is a huge part in getting better and even the best players in the world need help.
One part of the game we never concentrate enough on is putting, I spent a day with Cody Hale (2nd from left) the putting guru for SeeMore putters, apart from the amazing insight on the putter range which arrive soon, his knowledge on how to putt better was awesome. Luckily for new member Barry Llewellen he popped in complaining of missing putts left. When I checked his set up you can see his left wrist was in a poor position and this was causing him to flick his wrists and encouraged the putter to point left through the stroke, as you can see his new position looks very neutral and he has already commented on how much better his putting feels.
Dress Like The Best
New gear arriving to the "ClobberCave" daily and it really is bursting at the seams. Please pop in and have a look, the new adidas range has arrived and looks excellent, also very nicely priced with the most expensive item at £45. Remember if you want to play like Dustin Johnson you have to look like him. Here are a few snaps of some of the gear, loads more from adidas, PUMA, Sunice and Glenmuir to name a few.
Just A Rumour
There is a strong rumour that former Open Champion Paul Lawrie came and asked greenkeeper Gerry Bradley for a photo at the recent golf show, the big man was only happy (ish) to oblige.
Wishaw Golf Club Tartan Army Die Hard
Graeme Schoneville had some of "the lads" round to watch the match on Sunday night, apparently there were some hangovers on the Monday. Well done Schoon, was a great night!
