Welcome to this week's newsletter. Hope you are all enjoying the course? I have been out and about playing the last few weeks and, take it from m,e we are being spoiled at the moment. The Course is in great order and with the Club Championship this week I am expecting some smashing scoring. Good luck to all playing.


 

The Hole In One Champ

Delighted to report that not only did Brian O'Neill record one hole in one at the 6th hole, on the 13th May, but he managed another this time at the 11th hole in yesterday's sweep. Top notch Brian, congratulations and no doubt you might be selling a Hugo Boss watch soon...


 

Silloth Funday - 25th June 

A great response from everyone and at the moment it's almost full to 2.30pm. I have had some donations for prizes which is great, but I am sure we can get some more. I would also like every member to pay the entry fee before the actual tournament. £20 per team is payable in the shop to secure your place.


Open Sunday - 23rd July

As you know I like to try and organise a "social" event around the big events to try and fill the course up and likewise the bar, the initial idea is to have a team of four in the Texas scramble format (shotgun start) around 10.30/11 am. This will get us off the course around 3pm. A small presentation will follow and it would be great to have a big crowd stay and create a great atmosphere for the final round for the Claret Jug. Mark the date in your calendar and I will confirm in due course if this is going to happen.


SeeMore Putter Fitting - 7th April, 10am - 4pm 

Anyone struggling with their putting? Then you have to attend this, I have just recently moved to a SeeMore putter and have hugely improved my stats, with its simple design and technology it is sure to improve your putting. They will have all the models there for you to try and more importantly be fitted for. This is a fantastic opportunity and not to be missed as it carries no cost. Booking will be on a first come first serve basis, I already have bookings in place so be quick.

Competition Roundup

Congratulations to George Campbell and Sharon Smith on winning the Morrison Trophy on Sunday, the happy couple can be seen pictured with their trophy.

Congratulations to Willie Black on winning the Condie Open and also Kevin McLelland on winning the Scratch Event.

 

Junior Development

We are working hard to build a strong junior section at the club. Peter Brown has been magnificent in working with the kids, especially the young ones, giving them fun competitions every Sunday, this coupled with the coaching from myself is really bringing them on. Big pat on the back to Peter and let's keep this going! Here are some clips from last Sunday.
