How bad has the weather been this month? Got to be a record for the amount of rain that has fallen. Hopefully this is setting us up for a brilliant September. The course is now extra wet and I could not help but notice that some of the divots on the course are pretty deep, remember to repair them as well as the pitchmarks on the green.

Bobby Gray Open

Well done to all the players who took part in the recent open. Big congratulations to the winners, especially Scott Durno who pipped the Condie Open winner Alistair Hope on the BIH. Here are some of the winners on the night.

It's almost time - 9th September 

Well it's nearly here, my big event and I have now managed to finalise a few bits and pieces for the day. A big thanks go to Arnold Clark Volkswagen who have just confirmed that at the 17th hole there will be a Volkswagen Polo for the first hole in one that happens during the event.

Where's your weight?

Another busy week on the range helping pupils with their game. Celebrity Chef David Laird came for a lesson and, as we can see from the before picture, his posture was pretty poor, this is quite normal for a guy his height. He was standing very near the ball and this was causing his weight to fall onto his heels.

In the second picture we can see a much better posture allowing the weight to be placed much nearer the front of his feet. This allows much better leg/hip action and more powerful strikes.
