Winter Series - 27/1/18 54 hardy golfers took to the fairways (mats) and played to the big greens for the first time in a while. It always shows in the scores but again the battle for top 2 in each class was close. In first class, greens convenor Gary O’Raw pipped Graham Keatings on the BIH both scoring 41 points. In second class David Smith scored a fine 39 points which pushed Stephen Keane into second spot who had 38 points. The magic 2 was won by Peter Carty Jnr who had a 2 at the 2nd hole. Rumour has it he knocked it on the green and sank the putt, if that’s the case well done Peter. In the overall standings Harry Lennox is leading on 44points. We now have £650 saved up for the final day, a wee bit down on last year so let’s hope the weather allows us to build that up for the final which will be 24/3/18. So keep it clear and start arranging taxi drivers for after the presentation.
