Welcome to this week's newsletter.

Well on Wednesday we say the course closed for the first time since September. Not bad considering we are now mid-November. Remember we are still trying to do a Wednesday sweep for full and midweek members. We had decent numbers for this but as we have lost the last 2 Wednesday's. The weather forecast looks good, so hopefully we'll get a good turnout for Saturday.

Do you like my tache?

I am doing my bit for men's health and trying to raise money for the charity 'Movember'.

Basically it involves growing a moustache for the month of November and hopefully people will sponsor me for doing so. As you can see from my pictures it's coming along nicely. I did it a few years ago and raised over £1000 for the charity.

Competition news

Winter Series - 10/11/18

A cracking turnout of 75 golfers played with scoring matching the good conditions. We now have £230 saved up for the Finals Day in March. Remember you must play a minimum of 8 times to qualify for the final day.

Turkey Trot - 09/12/18

The booking sheet has filled up nicely with only a few slots left. If you don't have a game arranged then let me know and I will find you one. It's only £5 to enter and this must be paid by the 2nd of December. It is shaping up to be a great day with Stevie Donegan performing afterwards.

Between Christmas and New Year social competition 28/12/18

This was a great idea that Pat and I came up with last year.

Unfortunately the snow put paid to the golf but the entertainment went ahead and it was a great afternoon. The format will be a 4 man team Texas scramble that can be made up of members and guests. It will be a shotgun start at 10.00 AM and David Edgar will entertain us afterwards. The cost of a team will be £20.

Look out for email telling when bookings will take place.

Childrens' Christmas Party - 12/12/18

Santa will be making his yearly stop at the golf club from 6.00 PM till 7.30 PM on the above date, which is open to members kids/grandkids who must be aged between 3 and 7. Please give the kids names to Carole at the bar.

This is a great night for the kids and not to be missed.
