The Ryder Cup
Now the dust has settled on the recent edition of the Ryder Cup, we can reflect on what a great week it was. Amazing golf from the best in the business and it made for fantastic viewing!
Well done to Paul McGinley and his team for a famous and comprehensive victory.
Last Week
On Saturday the Lamond Trophy was contested for. This was won by Jack Marr with an amazing score of 73, less his handicap of 14, which gave him a nett 59! 'Bandit' I hear you say, he has now been cut to 11! Runners-up were Paul Brown and Steve Aitken with nett 65's.
On Sunday we had out 50 a side Pumphy Ryder Cup match which I think all who played in enjoyed.
It was great to see everyone getting in the spirit and wearing the colours. The clubhouse was full and bouncing, hopefully that was the fact that we won the Ryder Cup and not down to the alcohol!
There were a few sore heads the next day I bet, including my own. It was nice to socialise with so many members though.
Below are some pics from that amazing day.
A big well done to all involved in getting this off the ground. Also, a nice bit of worldwide press for Pumpherston - click here.
This Week
On Saturday we have the Caldwell Cup for the gents which is the last week to qualify for the President's Trophy so get up and play for a final push to get in. Still plenty of times available so get in touch if you want to play. The ladies have their Medal Finals this weekend, good luck to all playing.
