Hi folks,
I hope you're well and are all gearing up for Santa coming next month. We are getting a few bits and pieces in to hopefully whet your whistle and get you dropping hints to your loved one (Santa). Look out for my Christmas Wishlist form that will be available in the shop, I will explain all when you come in for it!
This Week
Another great weekend for golf which saw a brilliant turnout on Sunday for the Winter Series. On Saturday we had a Pumphy v Greenburn match which, needless to say, the Pumphy boys came out triumphant! Well done to Norrie Carse (Paul McGinley) on captaining the victorious side! Hope you were responsible for your players in the bar afterwards, Norrie?
In the Winter Series on Saturday we only managed 25 players but we did have the Greenburn match on so that probably hampered the numbers. In First Class the winner was Kenny Livingstone who pipped Brian O'Connell on the BIH after both players finished with 38 points. In Second Class Alan Quilter pipped Vincent Parrott by a single point after scoring 41 points! Great shooting! In the magic 2's there were three winners sharing £8.30 each. Well done to Peter Lowe, Alan Quilter and Ged Kilfeather on getting it at the 11th hole!
On Sunday we had an amazing 75 players turn out to compete! In First Class Andy Reid was the winner just edging out Ross Adamson on the BIH after both scored 40 points. In Second Class new member Callum Wilkinson beat Bob Woodmore jnr on the BIH, both players scoring 42 point (cut the legs off them I hear you say). The real winner of the day though was Ally Mackie who picked up an amazing £69 for the only magic 2 on lucky hole 4!!! Drinks are on Ally! Well done to all the winners but keep trying the rest of you, the winners are getting cut and can't win every week! Surely!
Course Improvements
Hopefully as you are playing you can see the hard work the greenkeepers are putting into the course. They are doing a bit of work on certain holes to help speed play up by thinning out a lot of the rough and shrubbery. Also, I'd like to mention that mats are now in play so if you don't have one (I sell them for £10) you now have to take your ball into the rough!
Shop News
We are still getting new stock in daily for you to hopefully treat yourself to. We have just taken stock of the new
TaylorMade RSi irons. They look very nice and feature side pockets to help with heel and toe mis-hit shots. More information is below - come in store to have a look.
Also just arrived is the new Stuburt waterproof suit which gives you a 2 year waterproof warranty. The jacket is £59 and the trousers are £49. If you take both you can have them for £100, well it is the season to be jolly, eh?
