A much better week with the weather and its been great to see many more golfers up using the course and facilities.

We are now in February and the end of Winter is now in sight. Big Gerry and the team have been out hand cutting the greens, there is always something nice about a nice stripe on the surfaces. Hopefully they will be running true for you.

Competition news

Winter Series - 1st February

A total of 31 players turned out to play this week, a low number but the weather was pretty brutal in the morning. Can I please ask if you are unable to make it then try and let the shop know. Again there were a few games where players were left on their own. Just helps us wangle a new game for the players that are keen to play. Well done to Gary O'Raw who pipped John McCabe on the BIH, both players had a very tidy 39 points. In second class Brian Karran had a steady 36 points to take 1st place nudging Garry Fullarton into 2nd place with 34 points.

Junior news

Junior coaching resumes

I had the pleasure of coaching the future stars of the club on Tuesday night. Good to get them back after a few weeks off. We also sneaked a little time in the Simulator which was awesome. Thanks to Bobby at Fairways once again for the use of this fantastic arena. A huge help as our facilities just can't accommodate such a thing in the Winter. If you would like your child to take part then please get in touch with the Pro Shop team or Ian Prentice.

Club news

AGM - 12th February

You will all hopefully have received the notice of AGM and Balance sheet. If not, these are available from the office and I would urge every member to have a look and try to make yourself available for the meeting.

These are tough times for many golf clubs (ours included) so the more members that turn up for their input could help.

Also there are a few places up for grabs on the Committee. Please support your club and apply for the said positions. Come on, you know you want to.
