This weekend marks both the longest day of the year and Father’s Day. So, if there’s anything golf-related that you want or if you need to buy a last-minute gift before Sunday, we are here to help.

Stay at home stableford results

We had a pretty good turnout over the 4 days of Stableford competition. We are not quite there with the 3 balls yet. that will surely bring with it the return of actual competitive golf. Season possibly earmarked to commence in July (not confirmed). I have also dabbled in putting the Magic 2's up 50p (They have been £1.00 since the 80's). Hopefully, that will stick moving into the actual playing season. It certainly looks like they are worth winning now, even for first class. Thanks to everyone who played in these events. We are conduction the Mrs Sturgeon Medal this week so that will hopefully get you all used to playing to a finish. Keep enjoying the course and the weather.

I have tried this week to roll out a new concept in the GOLFHUBBER APP. You can find this in the app or play store. I would urge all of you to download this and create a profile. It has fantastic features and would really be a great way of recording your score. It populates a live leaderboard.

You don't have to look at this if you don't want to but it's a fantastic app. This could be the future moving forward. Especially with COVID 19, it might be a safer way of recording our scores. It would also help myself and the match and handicaps of the club collate information easier.

Please give it a go, I intend to have it in use over the weekend so please try to have it set up.

Poorly repaired bunker

I played on Sunday morning and was stunned that someone had played a bunker shot without repairing the mess. I am sure i made a wee video up suggesting how to repair. Please try to think of your fellow golfer.

Litter bugs

The greenkeepers and some volounteers went round the course picking up litter. I know we get lots of unwanted guests on our course but lots of these look like they have come from my fridge. The bins have been taken away but please try to take your rubbish home with you. 

David Smith ace's the 17th

Congratulations to David Smith who recorded his first hole in one. What a hole to do it on as well.

The picturesque 17th hole on our course is arguably the toughest par 3 on the course. Should make it easy to get some on the other ones now David.

By the way, don't think you have missed out on buying everyone a drink, we have saved a night for you when we reopen.

A simple question

Spotlight | Callaway's Triple Track alignment

What you see in this picture is Callaway's latest innovation to help golfers hole more putts.

It's called Triple Track technology.

It was introduced last year on the ERC Soft golf ball but has been added to the brand new Chrome Soft for 2020, as well as the Odyssey Triple Track putters that you can see here.

By having the three prominent lines on your ball and/or putter (it makes a great combination), your alignment and accuracy on the greens should improve.
