Hello Golfers,

Another week where the course had to close due to the freakish weather. The rains were pretty horrific on Tuesday. We don't seem to get normal rain anymore. The course, for the most part, has drained the rainwater well but seems to be backing up in the bottom field as you can see from the picture. Gerry has some experts coming into solving the problem on Monday all being well. Having said that we could just make a water feature permanent right? For a bit of fun send me some designs of what you would do to the 18th. Maybe it could happen? Think of the Belfry for inspiration.

Connor - Scratch Champion

Well done to Connor MacLeod who is now a 3 time Club Champion. Connor held his nerve in the final round to beat the current holder Callum Connacher to the Belhaven Trophy.

John - Handicap Champion

Congratulations to John Canning who came from behind to win the coveted Alistair Moodie Trophy. John has been in great form really all season and proved it with 3 steady rounds. 

Scratch Winner
Catrina - Scratch Winner

Catrina Pickard held it together to win another Ladies Championship. Not easy leading from the front but again she managed to win the battle of nerves to win. 

Handicap Winner
Sharon - Handicap Winner

Sharon Smith was the winner of the Ladies handicap section. I am sure if I know sharon she would have had a right little party that night. A great achievement as she couldn't get out a bunker last season. 

 
Coaching Corner

We are still trying to conduct lessons in and out of the freakish weather. James my assistant has been busy coaching the kids and some new pupils also. If you think you need some help then get in touch. We will make you better, we will also help you understand your problems a little easier. Even the best need coached.

Here we can see Stephen with lots of unwanted leg movement. Poor Leg action was causing him to get the club into a position we felt was unrepeatable. The long backswing was giving him timing issues and directional woes.

One of the best in the business in my opinion. Super leg action and the best top of the backswing position I would say.

Stephen - After

We worked at Stephen's left knee working more bending forward to the ball. This helped him stay more central in his turn and made his hips turn more rather than slide right. A much better backswing position now achievable.The better shots came instantly. 

 
Park Brother's go to School

Emotional week for many with the kids and grandkids returning or going to school for the first time. My youngest Oliver attends primary 1 for the first time.

Hopefully his big brother Lucas will look after him as he starts primary 4. Was great seeing all the pictures of the kids returning. good luck to them all. I now get a Monday to myself. Now, where are my clubs?

It's about to get interesting

The Northern Trust begins this week, marking the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs on the PGA Tour. The event, held at TPC Boston, will be followed by the BMW Championship before culminating in Atlanta at The Tour Championship. It’s a hell of a payday for the winner ($15 million), as well as a lot of prestige; joining a list of golf’s modern greats.

Justin Thomas has already wrapped-up the $2 million Wyndham Rewards prize for the best regular-season player, with PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa finishing second. Thomas will be hoping to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only players to win the FedEx Cup multiple times (both have won it twice), but it won’t be easy.

It's great to see
