We hope you're safe and well. Well, Big Gerry managed to get the course open finally, granted it was only for one day but hopefully some of you were lucky (or mad) enough to get out there. I went a walk on and around the course yesterday and it is looking decent for this time of year. Although we will all be scunnered not getting a game the lack of traffic is doing the course no harm. Our First Minister has tightened restrictions again. Although I have chosen to close the shop I was intending on being a starter from Saturday. This would have allowed me to offer click and collect. However, these options have now been taken away from me in the list of the new restrictions. The Pro Shop will remain closed as well as the whole Clubhouse and unfortunately, I am not even allowed to conduct starters duties. It seems it is much safer to get to than Homebase, Next and Asda in the hundreds but not into my socially distanced shop. Go figure, I am sure she knows what she is doing. Can you tell I am frustrated? I have been fairly busy ordering and looking at the new stock. Not so easy to do this from home and online but hopefully when we finally get open you will be spoiled for choice. Lots of new product is being released in the next few weeks, some of which will be available from Wishaw Golf Club in due course. So, if you see anything you'd like to try or want to ask us any questions, send us a message and we'll get back to you.
Enjoy this week's read.

A Wishaw Winter Wonderland |
Although the snow and ice have scuppered the golf for a few weeks I hope you agree the pictures look good. I hope some of you have had the chance to take a walk around the course in the snowy conditions. There are some cracking views and through the power of social media, I saw some cracking shots of the course. More snow is forecast but let's hope we miss it, we have enough snowy pictures now.

I took the family a wander out on the course as we have some great hills for sledging. The most obvious would be the 11th and we did walk around there. It was so busy, Let's just say Mrs Sturgeon would not be too happy about it as there was not much social distancing going on. We then retired to the 3rd tee which was great. If we can't charge green fees at the moment then we should think about selling sledges and passes to the slopes. Seriously great fun though. If we get more and you are sick of the homeschooling then come and take advantage. Members only! Have a wee look at this video, I can't believe how far Olly went from the 3rd tee. He made it past the Practice area green. Well done wee man. Olly the Bullet

English top in Hawaii Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe). Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists. If you have any golf-related questions or enquiries, feel free to get in touch using the button below.
