Another poor week of cold and wet weather. Gerry did well to get the course open for a few days, I hope you managed to get a hit at the wee ball? I really enjoyed watching the golf from Dubai and the States this week. I really can't wait to get a game with short sleeves on again.

I have been into the shop getting it ready for when Mrs Sturgeon gives me the go-ahead. With lots of new products being released at the moment, we wanted to remind you that we're still here to help in any way we can! Golf on Tour

Too soon?

America vs Europe. PGA Tour vs European Tour. Reed vs Casey.

Is it too early to be talking about September’s Ryder Cup? Maybe so, but we just can’t wait! On the American side, Patrick Reed overcame yet another rules controversy to secure a dominant victory at the Farmers Insurance Open. At the same time, Paul Casey enjoyed an equally as impressive triumph at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Both golfers teed it up for their respective teams in Paris three years ago and are almost nailed on to do the same this year at Whistling Straits. But, before then, we have the little matter of the Solheim Cup taking place – which, if you remember, had one of the most dramatic final days in team-golf history last time out. It really is going to be a special year!

Sad News

It is with great sadness I have to tell you about the death of member and great friend Alex Littlejohn. Alex lost his very short fight with cancer a few days ago. I am sure anyone who knew Alex would agree he was a fantastic man. He was a huge supporter and friend of Wishaw Golf Club. Alex was one of the founder members of the fantastic Loch Lomond Golf Club, he was also the Captain there for a while. He regularly played on the Thursday mornings with the 65's. I for one will miss his friendship, his chats about golf and of course life in general. Rest in peace Alex, You will be sorely missed.

I have been out pounding the roads in a bid to shift the Winter coat. Dry January didn't quite go to plan so it all starts here. No matter which way I start walking the pull of the golf course ends with me up and around it. I explored the old Ravenscraig site the other day and I was amazed when I ended up at almost a Dalziel Park Golf Club. When you look on the map we are really quite close to it, really just over the other side of the Calder river. The pictures above are from Glorious Wishaw though. Was delighted after a freezing walk that Gerry had lit a fire for me, shame i forgot the marshmallows. Anyone guess where it was?
