Hi folks, welcome to my weekly newsletter. I am still coming to work dressed as a workie but let's hope that this is the final weekend with limited shop facilities. I have boxes and boxes of new gear just waiting to go up on the walls and shelves but it's looking like next week now! I have been assured I have the patience of a saint!! Haha.
A special mention for Pumpherston members Steve Maskrey and Steve Dand. The Steves won the Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance handicap section with a nett score of 60!! Well done the pumphy boys!
We are coming into the final stretch of this year's Winter Series and lots of players are making a push to qualify for the final day. I will have a better idea of numbers qualifying for final in next couple of weeks but it's looking like a full field which is magic. Well done!!
Sat 21 Feb - 40 plus points was needed to get into the prizes in both Classes on Saturday. In First Class, Steven Manson's 41 points edged out Paul Donlon's 40 points to take top spot. In Second Class, Joe Moir came in with 45 points which was only good enough for the runner-up spot as Martin Tyrie claimed top spot with 46 points. The 15th was the Magic 2 hole with three golfers achieving the feat, namely: Graham Lees, Steve Prior and Eion Mitchell to take hom £17.65 each.
Sun 22 Feb - Jim Smith ran away with First Class on Sunday with 42 points, six ahead of runner-up Gordon McKinnon. Only six golfers competed in Second Class and the one winner this week was Brian Fraser with 38 points. Hole 15 was again the Magic 2 hole with two golfers making a two to take home £13.00 each: Willie Hunter and Grant Swan.
Well not much really to say at the moment with regard to new products in shop because they are all boxed up in a cupboard but you will see them soon enough! A lot of people have been taking advantage of the FREE Golf Pride grip promotion and I have been busy re-gripping lots of clubs, seems the red and black Golf Pride grips are popular!!
Also, keep your eyes peeled for my bag trade-in promotion whereby I will give you £20 OFF any TaylorMade, Wilson or Motocaddy bag when you trade your old bag in! Even if it's 30 years old!
So for this week it's bye for now, let's hope next week's newsletter is full of pictures of the shop looking like a shop!! :)
