Hi folks,
I am back, a little tanned, a little tired but looking forward to the season ahead. I finished a bit further down the field than I had hoped in Bahrain but enjoyed the experience none the less. What I need to take from my tournament is that I really need to play more in competitions so I might try a few Pro-Am tournaments this year if time allows.
Well this is the final countdown, the final of this year's Winter Series is just about upon us and I am really looking forward to it, just hoping for a good day! There are still plenty available slots so if anyone who has qualified wants to play then please get in touch! Below are the results that I have still to report from my time away.
Sun 8 Mar - There was a tie at the top of the leaderboard in First Class as two golfers finished on 37 points. Leading the way after countback was David Smith, meaning Joe Bishop slipped into second spot. In Second Class, 37 points was only good enough for a runners-up spot for Brian Anderson. This was because Graham Sey stormed to victory with a best of the day 40 points. Magic 2 was was on the 15th hole and was won by Graham Lees and Derek Carruthers who both won £30 each for their troubles.
Sat 14 Mar - Derek Carruthers was the runaway leader in First Class with a brilliant 42 points, six ahead of runner-up Stan Cook with a solid 36 points. S Crabbe stormed to victory in Second Class with 41 points, two ahead of runner-up S Wallace. Derek Carruthers made his second Magic 2 in as many events, this time on the 11th hole, earning £29 for his troubles.
Sun 15 Mar - Kevin Peffers took the honours in First Class on Sunday with 39 points as David Evans closely followed in second. Both Ian Kidd and Chris Pickles came in with 40 points in Second Class but it was Ian who pipped top spot after countback. The Magic 2 was on the 13th hole and this was split between Asa Craig, Stan Cook and Vic Philbin. Well done lads, £14.60 each for your troubles.
