Good afternoon golfers,
Welcome to the first newsletter of the new season and what a cracking start! We had 145 male golfers take to the course for their opening day Medal as well as 94 for the Captain's Drive-In on the Friday. Great numbers and I am sure this will continue through the season.
Captain's Drive-In - As I have just mentioned, what a great turnout for the shotgun start at 5.45pm. Hard to believe we managed to get the course open and fit for play as it was still closed due to torrential rain at 3.00pm! Hats off to Stan and the boys for allowing play. Captain Peter got the play underway with a few words of encouragement for the new season as well as a monster drive down the 1st fairway. See him in action below.
In the competition Derek Stewart had the best frone nine score, ahead of Kenny Wood in second and Steve Wilson in third. The back nine was won by Craig Manson ahead of Darren Gracey and Paul Drake. Well done everyone for playing.
Men's Opening Day Medal - Last Saturday saw the first Medal of the season take place with Steve Paton taking top spot in First Class, with Kenny Marr and Paul Farrell closely following. In Second Class it was Wayne Stephens who led the way ahead of Paul Hood and Willie Allan in second and third places, respectively. Tam Taylor tamed the field in Third Class, with Bryan Anderson in second and William Watters in third.
Ladies Opening Day Medal - Likewise on the Saturday, Captain Marjory gave her words of encouragement to the fellow members before ripping on down the middle of the fairway. See her in action below.
The new club logo section (pictured above) took a bit of a beating at weekend, great to see so many of you snapping up the items. Please pop in for a look.
Notices - Please remember that all 2014 and Winter Series winnings should be spent be my the end of this month. Plenty of stock to choose from so no excuses. Also, could members please try and get into the habit of booking a tee off time. Just helps us run the tee better.
The current campaigns are certainly being snapped up, please take advantage of them with new stock arriving daily. Pick of the bunch is the Titleist ball deal! Pay for three or more dozen and get one dozen FREE. With your name on them! Top deal!! Order yours here.
Get £20 for your old golf bag
That's right…we're giving you £20 for your old golf bag, against a new Motocaddy, TaylorMade or Wilson one. Many of you will be dusting off your gear ready for action as the new season looms and a worn bag just won't do; it certainly won't protect your equipment.
