Welcome to my latest newsletter,
We have reached the finals of the Club Championships! The finals take place on Saturday and they have already thrown up a few surprises. The Club Championship Final is between last year's beaten finalist Craig Manson and he will be taking on young Graeme Gillies who was beaten in the junior final last year. B class is Ross Adamson and Mark McGeoch who will contest the final, 2 young pups and should be close. Class C is Brian Healy and Billy Bishop, the 2 bandits that regularly clean up in the sweeps. The final of D class will be contested by Peter Brown vs Alan Quilter and in the final of the ladies we have Lisa Kilpatrick vs Gill Fisher, should be a great match, both in good form. Lastly the junior final is between Paul Adamson and Stuart Loch.
Please come along and support as there are some cracking matches amongst them.
Other Finals - We have a few other finals coming up tomorrow. The Junior Silver is between Ruairidh Little and Ethan Cosgrove. The ladies bronze between Fiona Comber and Jackie Aitken. Finally the Seniors is between Steven Aitken and Hugh Robertson.
Pro's Day is coming up on Saturday, 4 July and the format will be member and away player best ball pairs. The cost of the event will be £20 per pair, the prize table promises to be even better than last year with over £3000 of prizes up for grabs as well as nearest the pin and longest drive prizes. It will be a double shotgun start, one starting at 8am and the other at 1.30pm, please put your names in with the pro shop staff over the next week, payment upfront is requested so get in quick to book your place!
Looking forward to what should be an amazing day, beers and a possible BBQ depending on weather also!!
What's your worst ever score on one hole?
We've all had card-wrecking scores that ruin a medal round, but Russia's Andrey Pavlov notched up a 17 on the par-five first during his second round at the Austria Open at the weekend, which included finding the water hazard six times! Unsurprisingly, he followed that with a bogey - although he took just four shots on the second.
We're not poking fun; rather using this unfortunate example to help make this point: we can help you avoid your own card wreckers.
Whether it's preparing physically and mentally for that challenging opening tee shot, how to approach a shot over water, or how to best manage the course, our lessons are for all golfers, regardless of skill level. Are you fed up with one big score killing off your medal chances?
We want to help you enjoy better golf and shoot lower scores - so click here or come in to ask about a lesson, or course of lessons. In the meantime, spare a thought for Pavlov; he never quite recovered from that opening hole.
