Hi folks and welcome to my latest newsletter.
What a week it's been weather wise and the course has been booming due to it and it's great to see it looking so well. Congratulations to Stan and his team.
Pumphy win the courier trophy
Well done to (from left to right) Tam Laird, Jim Cleghorn, John Gallacher and Ross Burnside (Kerr Anderson also played previous rounds).
Tremendous achievement lads, we haven't won the trophy since 1981 so great news! Flying the flag well for Team Pumphy!
This weekend we have my Pro's Day and the prize table is looking amazing with over £3000 of prizes! You do not want to miss out and there are still spaces available so grab a partner (club member or visitor) and get involved. Click here for the list of the prizes to see what can be won. I am also running a tremendous raffle with some cracking prizes - make sure you get involved!!
Look out for some amazing promotions in the shop over next few weeks as it's Open Month! Here are a few crackers:
Buy any Nike Vapor series club and receive one dozen RZN balls of your choice free
Buy any TaylorMade R15 driver and receive one dozen TP balls free
Buy any FootJoy shoes and receive a FootJoy WeatherSof glove free
Getting the ball up and down… more frequently!
How many times have you felt like you've got your opponent beaten with a solid approach to the green, only to watch them get up and down from the greenside rough… again! It's a great asset to have and frustrating if you're on the receiving end, especially in a matchplay situation.
Whether it's learning how to apply spin on your chip shots (see below) or adding a bump-and-run to your locker, we can help improve your own short game skills. It's not always a matter of getting too technical, either, often it's a bit of advice on where your hands are or how tightly you're gripping your club, which prove to be real game changers.
It's amazing how small improvements can end up giving your whole game a boost, not to mention the enjoyment factor you'll get by scrambling really well. Give the article below a read and speak to us if you want us to check over your short game. Click here to send us your thoughts or challenges.
