Hello golfers,
As I write this I am sitting on the bus on route to St Andrews to watch The Open. Play has been suspended this morning but the Greenkeepers have done a fantastic job to get it back underway. Why oh why do they try and hold any tournament in this country?
I managed to get up to play the Old Course a few weeks ago, it was my first time and I have to say it is definitely my greatest golfing experience to date. From the first tee shot I was in awe of the place and finishing at 17 and 18 was magnificent, you hear lots of people saying the course is not the greatest but I totally disagree with that, every hole has its own challenge and is great to think of how steeped in history the place is.
Above is the customary picture of the golfer on the Swilcan Bridge trying to do the Jack Nicklaus, although I am not sure he could pull those breeks off!!
