Hi folks,
Welcome to my latest newsletter. Week one is underway of the Winter Series and we had a good turnout, the course is still playing pretty well for this time of year. Scores from weekend are below.
We will be moving onto winter mats pretty soon and I have just taken delivery of the "rocket launcher" mats.
These are £12 each and they really are the best way to play winter golf! Much better than those pieces of carpet we used to have to play off.
Pop in for a look.
Sat 24 Oct - 27 golfers took part in the first Winter Series event of the season. Gordon Mitchell won 1st Class in Saturday's Winter Series after carding 40 points, two ahead of Mark McGeouch in second. In 2nd Class it was again 40 points that was the winning score, Graeme Thomson the golfer. Finishing three points behind was David Reid in second. The Magic 2 was on the 13th hole with only one winner, Gordon Mitchell continuing his good day to take home £27!
Sun 25 Oct - Over double the amount of golfers took to the course on Sunday, 61 players battling it out. Hole 13 was also the Magic 2 hole with three golfers winning, namely Colin Dunlop, Martin Ketchion and Alistair Murie. 40 points was only good enough for the runner-up spot in 1st Class this time, Martin Ketchion rounding off a good day to take second. Leading the way was Kevin Morgan after carding the weekend's best 43 points. Ronnie Cowan finished top of 2nd Class with 39 points, pushing Joe Bishop into second.
